HikaShop has been developed since 2009 by Nicolas Claverie and his team from Lyon, France. From the beginning, the goal has been to build a flexible and easy-to-use web store extension. HikaShop is thus a complete e-commerce solution for Joomla that allows you to easily create, personalize and manage your online store.

What is Hikashop?

HikaShop is an extension for Joomla. With this extension it is possible to set up a complete and user-friendly web store.

I have a specific case, is this possible in HikaShop?

In HikaShop there are a huge number of options. A product can contain different options and specifications. The shopping cart and checkout can be completely customized to your needs. Things like auctions, gift cards, serial numbers, marketplace features. It is too much to mention. Contact me to see the possibilities.

Will HikaShop also work on my WordPress website?

Unfortunately, HikaShop only works on Joomla. If you have a WordPress website, I recommend a WooCommerce webshop. Please contact me to discuss the possibilities.

How much does a web shop cost?

That question depends entirely on your wishes and the time you are willing/able to invest in it yourself. Besides the costs for designing and building the web shop, you also have to take into account the recurring costs for hosting and technical maintenance. Let me know your wishes and I will list all the costs for you in a clear but non-committal quote. Request a quote.

Is HikaShop user-friendly?

HikaShop is a user-friendly system. You can add, modify or delete the products yourself.

Is a HikaShop right for me?

HikaShop is suitable for small, medium and large companies, foundations, organizations as well as personal (blog) websites.

Will my web shop be found well in Google?

With Joomla you can achieve a number 1 position in the search engines, but this depends on the content and authority of your shop and the underlying technology. SEO you can do yourself or (partially) outsource.

I don't have time to update my webshop. Can you do that?

Of course, I can make adjustments for you. I do this support at a pre-arranged hourly rate.

Do you also provide hosting, texts, photos, logos and corporate identities?

Yes you can, but I don't do it all myself. Meanwhile, I have built a network of designers, copywriters, photographers and other specialists in their own fields. I am happy to put them in touch with you.

About HikaShop

Free webshop

Even the free version has many features built in and is a perfect entry-level way to give this extension a try. This version has no limits or advertising and you can also disable the footer through the settings. If you need more options later you can always easily upgrade to a paid version.
If you want to compare the features of the different versions, take a look at the Hikashop Features List. By the way, for my clients I always use the Business edition.

Steady development

A new version is released regularly with bug fixes, improvements and new features. View the Hikashop changelog with the latest changes here. Updating is easy via the Joomla updater. My experience is that Hikashop is a lot more stable than e.g. Virtuemart.

Also, Hikashop is relatively light and fast if you compare it with Magento, which can be seen as the Hummer among the webshops. Nice to have, but certainly not suitable for everyone (or every server).

Uitstekende Support

When you have a problem, support is an important issue. This is lacking at Virtuemart, but is excellent at Hikashop. (Support is only for paid editions)
If you have found a bug, or have worked yourself into trouble, they are always ready to help you and the solution is often ready within a day. This saves a lot of stress and hours of searching on forums where often only the questions are listed, without a solution.

Payment Methods

In Hikashop, you can add features through the use of plugins. This allows developers to incorporate specific customer requirements into the webshop. This is also the case with payment plugins. Hikashop comes standard with over 70 payment plugins such as: bank transfer, Credit cards, PayPal, Authorize.net, MoneyBookers, etc. With Mollie's iDEAL connection you can use iDEAL, Bancontact, Apple Pay, Klarna, EPS, and many others.

This allows you to connect your online store to iDEAL via your own bank or an iDEAL payment provider such as: Mollie (only €0.29 per transaction!). The advantage of these providers is that you pay no connection fee or fixed monthly costs and they are therefore also suitable for small and medium-sized webshops.

Switching to HikaShop

If you already have an online store but want to switch to Hikashop there are several import functions available.
You can import complete webshops (products and settings) from Virtuemart, Redshop, Mijoshop or Opencart.
Furthermore, you can also import products from a folder, text field or CSV file. The latter also makes it possible to update products regularly from another location.
