# Module positions

A **module position** is a place in a template where you can assign one or more modules. The module is then executed at this position.

## Showing module positions in a Joomla template

 While developing a Joomla website, it is useful to know where to load which modules.

 To do this, go to**"Extensions > [Templates](https://www.joomill.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=227&catid=22%3Ajoomla-algemeen)**" in the administrator area.

 Then click the "options" button at the top right of your screen.

 Set Example module positions to**"enabled"**.

 After this, go to the frontend of your website and add " ?tp=1 " to your URL

```
http://www.jouwwebsite.nl/index.php?tp=1```
 (tp stands for Template Positions)
 After this, you will get information about the module position and module style used within your website.
