# Sorry, your PHP version is not supported

From Joomla 4 onwards, you can no longer use PHP versions lower than 7.2 .   
In Joomla 5, the minimum PHP version is 8.1 .  
In Joomla 6, the minimum PHP version is 8.3 .

 Your host needs to use PHP version XXX or newer to run this version of Joomla

 
## How can I update the PHP version?

 In many cases, you can log in to your hosting management environment (such as cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin) and update the PHP version there.

 If this PHP version is not among the options, you should contact your hosting party.
